Nicknamed "the tree of life" in Tibet, the Ginkgo is one of the oldest trees in the world, whose resistance and longevity are exceptional (more than 2,000 years!). The Gingko is one of the first species that redeveloped after the explosion of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, thus becoming the emblem of the city of Tokyo. Its name comes from the Chinese term, Ginkyo "silver apricot" which comes from its seeds with silver reflections. It is called Biloba by the bilobed (two-lobed) shape of its leaves. In Asia, it has the aura of a "sacred" tree with multiple medicinal uses: powerful antioxidant, protects the brain and memory, improves blood circulation.
